Smooth, Robust Six-Cylinder Power at the Top of the 6LY-CR Range
The YANMAR 6LY440 is a 5.813 L marine diesel rated at 324 kW / 440 mhp at 3300 rpm, the higher of the two outputs in the 6LY-CR series, which comes in 400 and 440 mhp. Built on 30 years of history, the 4th generation 6LY-CR is a smooth and robust six-cylinder in-line engine for cruising, racing and light commercial applications. Its narrow, lightweight profile enables installation in the tightest engine rooms, for repowers and new builds alike. YANMAR built the series around five things: clean, interconnective, quiet, powerful and fuel efficient.
Powerful and fuel efficient. Denso common-rail direct injection with turbocharging and intercooling delivers high torque throughout the full operating range, for class-leading acceleration and top-end responsiveness, with fuel consumption optimized for longer journeys.
Clean and quiet. The 6LY440 meets EPA Tier 3 and EU RCD 2 and produces minimal emissions thanks to its advanced common-rail technology, with significantly less noise than previous 6LY generations and low-noise operation with vibration reduction.
Interconnective. Seamless integration for a more connected experience: the 6LY440 is controlled electronically by the YANMAR VC20 vessel control system, with up to four stations, and is available with the JC20 joystick for twin shaft-drive applications. It is offered for shaft drive with Kanzaki KMH61A2 or KMH61V2, or ZF280-1A gears, is certified for recreational and light-duty commercial applications, and is USCG lifeboat approved with a SOLAS option.
