Gyro stabilization built to be serviced on board.

Smartgyro Stabilizers

Roll reduction, onboard service and liquid cooling

Why Choose Smartgyro Through Mastry?

A gyro stabilizer has to suit the boat. Smartgyro sizes by length and displacement, and every unit needs AC power, a sea water supply and time to spool up. Mastry distributes Smartgyro and can help you and your dealer match the right model to your boat.

Modular Design for Onboard Servicing

Smartgyro’s modular construction lets technicians service the stabilizer inside the boat, without hauling out or removing the whole frame.

Advanced Liquid Cooling System

Closed-loop liquid cooling keeps internal vacuum components, bearings, and drive electronics operating at ideal temperatures for extended lifespan and peak efficiency.

Up to 95% Roll Reduction

A flywheel spinning in a sealed vacuum sphere resists roll. Smartgyro rates it at up to 95% roll reduction, and it works underway and at anchor.

Sealed Vacuum Enclosure

The flywheel runs inside a sealed vacuum enclosure, which cuts drag on the flywheel, so less power goes into keeping it at speed. It runs on AC power, so plan for it alongside your generator.

FAQs

Sizing, power, service and warranty: the questions we hear most about Smartgyro.

How much roll does a Smartgyro take out?

Smartgyro rates its stabilizers at up to 95% roll reduction, and they work both underway and at anchor. What you get on your boat depends on the boat and the sea state.

What size boat is a Smartgyro for?

Smartgyro sizes by length and displacement, not length alone. The range starts with the SG20, for boats of about 45 to 55 feet, and Mastry’s catalog covers the SG20 to the SG80. See the models.

What does a Smartgyro need on board?

AC power and a sea water supply, plus time to spool up. On the SG20 that is about 35 minutes to stabilization and 55 minutes to full speed, drawing about 1.5 to 2.5 kW in operation and 3.5 kW while spooling up.

Can it be serviced on board?

Yes. The modular design lets major mechanical and electrical components be serviced inside the hull, without unbolting the frame or hauling the boat.

Does it work at anchor and underway?

Yes, both. It also locks itself in high-speed turns.

What warranty does a Smartgyro carry?

Smartgyro’s warranty on recreational units is 3 years or 2,000 hours, whichever comes first.
