3.2 kW of Quiet, Water-Cooled Power from a Single-Cylinder YANMAR
The VTE Paguro 4000 is a water-cooled marine diesel generator set rated at 3.2 kW continuous at 60 Hz and 3600 rpm, single-phase at 115 V (60 Hz) or 230 V, powered by a YANMAR L70N5 single-cylinder engine. VTE’s Paguro range is built around the optimal ratio of performance, quietness and small size, with models for sailboats and motorboats alike. Volpi Tecno Energia has built generator sets in Fiumicello, Italy, since 1933. VTE builds the Paguro around three points: silent, lightweight and compact, and safe.
Silent. Both the engine and the alternator are water-cooled, so no cooling air is needed and noise drops sharply. The capsule has a single small opening for combustion air, with a labyrinth path that keeps noise in, and is made of multilayer fiberglass lined with high-density sound-absorbing material. The Paguro 4000 measures 53 dB(A) at 7 m.
Lightweight and compact. Every Paguro is designed with purpose-built components that reduce overall size and use the empty space inside the capsule. The Paguro 4000 weighs 209 lb with its capsule and measures 24 in x 18.25 in x 22 in. The capsule splits into two halves, so the lids come off for servicing even in tight spaces.
Safe. A remote control with LCD display shows load, running hours and frequency or engine speed, and the unit shuts down automatically on low oil pressure or high temperature. Automatic start and ignition protection are available as options.
