Contra-Rotating Power and Precision Control at 300 HP
The Suzuki DF300B is a 4390 cc V6 four-stroke outboard rated at 300 hp across a 5300-6300 rpm full-throttle operating range, the entry point to Suzuki’s Dual Prop line, which runs from 300 to 350 hp. Suzuki builds it around the Suzuki Dual Propeller System, Suzuki Precision Control electronic shift and throttle, a Dual Injector fuel system, Suzuki Lean Burn Control and Variable Valve Timing.
Powerful and efficient. The DF300B is built around a 4390 cc 55-degree V6 DOHC 24-valve powerhead feeding two propellers instead of one. Suzuki’s contra-rotating Dual Propeller System distributes engine torque evenly across both propellers, which lets Suzuki use a smaller, more hydrodynamic gear case than a single-prop design of this output would need, and the 2-Stage Gear Reduction behind it delivers a large 2.29:1 reduction ratio for strong acceleration. A Dual Injector fuel system atomizes fuel more finely and cools the combustion chamber to suppress knock, and Variable Valve Timing adds low- and mid-range torque without giving up top end.
Easy to live with. Suzuki Precision Control is a computer-based drive-by-wire throttle and shift system that eliminates the friction and resistance of mechanical control cables, for smooth, crisp shifting that is most noticeable at low rpm while docking and maneuvering. Suzuki’s Lean Burn Control System leans the fuel mixture from low speed up into the cruising range for better economy, a knock sensor feeds the ECM real-time combustion data to manage timing precisely, and an offset drive shaft positions the crankshaft ahead of the drive shaft for a more compact, better-balanced powerhead.
Built for saltwater. Suzuki’s Anti-Corrosion System applies a multi-layer finish — an epoxy primer, an acrylic basecoat and a clear topcoat — bonded directly to the outboard’s aluminum surface for protection in fresh and saltwater alike, and an intake manifold resonator keeps intake noise low across the full speed range. The DF300B is offered in Pearl Nebular Black or White.
