EPA Emergency Stationary Engines for Generator Sets
These four YANMAR industrial diesels are certified in the EPA Emergency Stationary class, which is its own regulatory category, separate from Final Tier 4. They are four-cylinder, water-cooled engines for generator sets at 1800 rpm, from the 30.2 hp 4TNV88-BGGES to the 68.3 hp 4TNV98T-ZGGES.
Where they can be used. YANMAR notes that states and local areas may have additional requirements for emergency stationary engines, and that they are not permitted for use in California. Check the rules where the generator set will be installed before you specify one.
Ratings for generator sizing. The table on the Specs tab gives YANMAR America’s gross power. Each spec sheet on the Downloads tab gives the engine’s standby and prime kWe ratings and its continuous output, which YANMAR bases on a generator efficiency of 92% at sea level.
