Contractor-Grade, EPA Final Tier 4 Diesel Generators
The YANMAR YDG-W series is YANMAR America’s range of portable diesel generators, certified to EPA Final Tier 4. Two models, the YDG3700W-6EI and YDG5500W-6EI, are rated 3.5 and 5.0 kVA continuous (3.7 and 5.5 kVA maximum) at 60 Hz, single-phase at 120/240 V, each powered by a YANMAR vertical, four-cycle, air-cooled diesel. YANMAR calls the YDG-W contractor grade: pure, reliable power.
Silent and steady. YANMAR built the YDG as a silent, compact power source with minimum fluctuations. The YDG3700W-6EI measures approx. 82 dB(A) at 7 m and the YDG5500W-6EI approx. 85 dB(A).
Easy to start and to move. A short stroke of the recoil starter brings the engine to life, and auto-return decompression makes starting easier and quicker, even in low temperatures. Recoil and electric starting are both listed. YANMAR says mobility approaches that of a gasoline generator: the electric-start units weigh 85 kg and 113 kg / 249 lb, and an optional wheel kit is offered.
Durable and economical. Durability, versatility and dusk-to-dawn operation are built in, and the 13 L tank gives approx. 8 hours (YDG3700W-6EI) or 6 hours (YDG5500W-6EI) per tankful. Fewer parts mean easy inspections and simple adjustments, and the YDG uses one of the smallest direct-injection, air-cooled diesels in the world, which YANMAR credits with strong fuel savings.
