A VETUS BOW PRO thruster motor installed on its tunnel inside the hull

Factory-backed BOW PRO installations

Mastry takes the guesswork out of thruster upgrades. Whether you want precise docking, quiet operation or better control in tight spots, we fit genuine VETUS BOW PRO thrusters so the installation meets factory specifications.

Docking Control

A thruster takes the stress out of docking by giving you sideways control of the bow and stern. It turns a propeller in a submerged tunnel, or a housing mounted athwartships, near the bow, the stern or both.

Thrusters are not just for docking. Total control matters in any tight situation, or when you are handling the boat with a marlin on the line.

Proportional Power

The BOW PRO is fully proportional as standard, so you decide exactly how much thrust you get. Its brushless induction motor is maintenance-free and runs much longer than a conventional DC thruster.

Installed to Factory Specifications

Every BOW PRO we fit is a genuine VETUS unit, and every installation is done to meet VETUS’s factory specifications.

Demanding Performance

The VETUS MCV motor controller runs the induction motor. Built-in over-temperature and low-battery protection make the BOW PRO series highly resistant to abuse, and ready for difficult maneuvering.

Lock and Hold

You can take control a step further with the available lock-and-hold feature: hold the boat in place while you handle the lines.

FAQs

For anything not covered here, call 1-800-545-4574.

Can a BOW PRO replace my existing thruster?

Often, yes. BOW PRO thrusters share tunnel sizes with conventional thrusters, so they are interchangeable with existing units. We confirm the fit for your boat before we quote.

What battery bank does a BOW PRO need?

VETUS recommends slightly larger batteries for the BOW PRO series than for a conventional DC thruster. The larger bank lets the motor’s efficiency pay off in longer run times.

What is lock-and-hold?

An available control feature that holds the boat in place while you handle the lines.

Bow, stern or both?

A bow thruster gives you sideways control of the bow. Add a stern thruster and you control both ends of the boat, which is what makes docking in wind or current easy.

Is a thruster only for docking?

No. Total control matters in any tight situation, or when you are handling the boat with a marlin on the line.
